I’m Maiko Sano.
In this tutorial I’ll show you glamorous big eye makeup that’s great for dates and parties.
This makeup style is very popular in Japan for cosmetic surgery-like transformations.
First, apply orange eye shadow or blush to your eyebrows.
The orange tones down your skin’s shaved or bluish areas.
Next, use an eyebrow pencil to draw your brows.
Extend your eyebrows downward toward your eyes as much as you can.
Bringing your brows closer to your eyes makes your eyes look more deep set.
Then, blend in eyebrow powder.
For your inner brows, use only powder and no pencil so your brows blend naturally with your nose line.
And, create a gradation so your brows get darker from the inner to outer edge.
This gradation gives your brows more depth.
Finish your brows with eyebrow mascara.
Apply it thoroughly without getting it on your skin to brighten your brows for a refined look.
Next, apply nose shadow.
Apply the mid-tone eyebrow powder, starting from your inner brow along the top two-thirds of your nose line.
Be sure to blend in the powder with your fingers so it isn’t too dark
Add highlighter along the bridge of your nose.
I recommend a lavender shade like this for better transparency.
Use double eyelid fiber to enhance your double lids.
Use a shaping stick to mark the width of the crease and stretch out about 5 cm of the fiber.
Press the fiber along the place where you want to create the crease.
Trim the fiber to the width of your eyes.
This enhances the crease.
Next, apply eye shadow.
First, apply this cream shadow over your entire eyelid.
Cream shadow improves the other eye shadow colors, so it works great as foundation.
Next, I’ll use a pallet with basic colors.
Add this bright color to your entire eyelid.
Then, add a mid-toned bright color over half of your eyelid.
Add the darkest color along the edge of your eyelid.
Then, blend the colors with your fingers.
The key for gradation is to create peaks with the eye shadow at the middle of your eyes to make them look big and round.
Apply eye shadow below your eyes too.
First, apply the brightest shade along your inner eye.
Then, broadly apply the middle shade from your outer eye to your inner iris.
And, apply the darkest shade to the outer edge.
The three-shade gradation for your lower lid creates depth, and adding the dark shade to the outer eye creates the droopy-eye effect.
Next, add eyeliner.
Draw the eye line with black eye liner.
Apply it about 1-mm thick from the inner to outer eye.
Follow the curve 1 cm beyond the outer eye.
Then, add black eye shadow over the eyeliner.
The black eye shadow gives your eyeliner staying power.
Instead of eyeliner below your eye, use an eyebrow pencil to draw a tear bag shadow.
Blur the tear bag shadow with your finger.
The tear bags enhance your double eyelids, and the shadow below your eyes makes your eyes look bigger.
Next, add fake eyelashes.
First, curl your natural lashes with a curler.
Use brown lashes for a natural and subtle look.
Check the lash width so you can trim the lashes to the right length.
Trim the inner eyelid end of the lashes.
Apply glue to the edge of the lashes.
Place the lashes along your own lashes.
Next, apply mascara to your lower lashes.
Then, attach the lower fake lashes in sections.
These lashes are divided into groups of three.
Add a group of three to your outer eye.
Add groups of three from the outer lid, and don’t put any at your inner eye.
Cheeks come next.
Apply pink blush below your eye in broad upward strokes.
The key is using blue-toned pink for pale skin and yellowish tones for darker skin.
Lightly add blush along the bridge of your nose between your cheeks.
This makes your cheeks blend in naturally.
Next comes lips.
Use pink lipstick to match the blush, and transparent gloss.
Your glamorous big eye makeup is done.
The key points are giving your eyes depth by shrinking the gap between your eyebrows and eyes. And, enhancing your double eyelids.
Plus, make your eyes look even bigger with fake eyelashes and gradation below your eyes.
That’s it for Maiko Sano glamorous big eye makeup tutorial.
